Giraffe's Can't Dance Hunter College Elementary School

New York City• May 2023

Joshua worked with a kindergarten class at Hunter College Elementary School to build Gerald the Giraffe — a full puppet constructed entirely from recycled materials for their production of Giraffes Can't Dance. Students contributed to the build themselves, creating Gerald's spots and hair.

It was a reminder that puppetry belongs everywhere — not just on Broadway stages and television sets, but in classrooms, community spaces, and the hands of five-year-olds discovering what they can make.

Joshua is available to collaborate with schools and arts organizations on puppet and prop builds for student productions. Get in touch to start a conversation.
